The Whiskey Gypsies

The Whiskey Gypsies antipodean styled ‘Celtic folk-inspired music‘ blends ominous, virtuosic instrumentals to add new interpretations to popular contemporary acoustic tunes. Their haunting melancholic ballads and urban beer soaked anthems capture the cusp of new age in roots music, as trailblazed by bands such as Mumford and Sons and The Lumineers.

Imagine the sound of a mandolin piercing a misty morning forest, or a fiddle evoking merriment amongst a colonial miners swell in some distant gold rush gathering, and you will begin to let the Whisky Gypsies musical magic capture your soul and spirit…

The Gypsies’ music is reminiscent of the sound of a summer evening sea shanty at its drunkest, an Olympic dive belly flopping in slow motion….Catchy singalongs to raucous reels and jigs take help take the Whisky Gypsies’ Celtic, bush and roots-inspired music down a road less travelled…where even the Devil awaits to raise a shot glass to all who join this merry band on their musical journey.

Join Dan and Ken [and whoever else they can put together] for a performance of high energy jigs and polkas spiced with some tantalising original music and mixed with some familiar sounds. Get your dancing shoes on or just sit back and enjoy the ride.

The Gypsies are here to entertain you!
