MP Music Network ‘Music Industry Event’

Some of the best minds in contemporary music will converge on Mornington’s picturesque Royal Hotel on June 16 for its second annual free Music Industry Day and the launch of the council’s Music Plan 2025.

Dozens of industry experts from the Mornington Peninsula, regional Victoria and metro Melbourne will share insights on topics including What will it take for the Shire become the regional music capital of Australia? How do we get audiences back to shows? And how can music help the Mornington Peninsula consolidate its position as a cultural destination?

Speakers include local artist and bar owner Clint Hyndman (Something for Kate) and Dominique Garrard (Zombeaches, N.Y.C.K, Mutual Colour), Live Nation’s Vice President of Communications Jackie Antas, music lawyer Paul O’Gorman, Music Victoria CEO Simone Schinkel, festival promoter Shaun Adams, Caravan Music Club/Archie’s Creek Hotel owner Peter Foley and more to be announced shortly.

After lunch, the audience will be split into three groups for a series of workshops for artists, venues, live music professionals and sound engineers, before they all come together to share their findings and recommendations.
