Paul Woseen – The Southern Shooters
The Southern Shooters in an exciting new acoustic side project by The Screaming Jets bass player Paul Woseen. Woseen is renowned as one of the most prolific songwriters in Australian rock having penned many of the smash hits for legendary Australian rock band The Screaming Jets; including 1994 APRA “Song of the Year” nominee and radio mainstay “Helping Hand”.
Having penned more than 30 songs across 6 Jets studio Albums – 3 of which peaked in the Top 5 of the ARIA Charts, (All for One, Tear of Thought and TSJ/Gorilla), there is no denying Woseen has been the backbone of a wide landscape that runs through The Jets lyrical content as it is served up through a clever union of verses and hooks.
Whilst acoustic shows are intimate by nature, make no mistake, you won’t be tippling wine and nibbling cheese at a Southern Shooters show. Woseen is the type of musician that “lives and breathes rock’n’roll”, a point that he and his trusty Maton will ram home on this run of shows alongside a rotation of acclaimed guests like John Kendall, Delsinki and more, dropping in to join him over the coming weeks, each Sunday in June at the Bay.
Woseen, a 25 year veteran and co-founder of The Screaming Jets is keen for fans to join The Southern Shooters for a cracker Sunday sesh, strangling a few cold brown ales, hearing a collection of their favourite traditional, roots and rockin’ tunes, while checking out what’s new at Mornington’s iconic Bay Hotel.
